At Rethink Your Ink, we want to ensure your healing process is smooth and comfortable. Please follow these simple aftercare instructions:

Ice for Relief:

To reduce swelling and discomfort, you can ice the treated area. Use ice in 20-minute intervals (20 minutes on, 20 minutes off).

Soothe Itchiness:

If you experience itchiness, apply a small amount of hydrocortisone cream to the area. This will help reduce discomfort.

Avoid Picking or Scratching:

It’s important not to pick or scratch at the treated skin, even if it feels itchy. This helps prevent scarring and infection.

Protect from Sun Exposure:

Shield the treated area from the sun. Avoid tanning and direct sun exposure for at least one week before and after your treatment.

Treat Broken Skin with Care:

If the skin breaks, treat it like a minor cut. Keep it clean by using an antibacterial ointment like Neosporin or Bacitracin.

Use Familiar Products:

Only use skincare products you’ve used before. Avoid trying new products on the treated area to prevent reactions.

Allow Skin to Breathe:

Do not wrap or bandage the treated area with anything that could suffocate the skin. It’s essential to let the skin breathe.

Swimming Precautions:

If you go swimming, rinse the treated area with clean water afterward and gently pat it dry.

Use Warm Water:

Wash the area with warm (not hot) water. Overheating the area can cause irritation, while cooling helps to soothe it.

Moisturize If Needed:

If your skin feels dry, you can use a simple, unscented lotion to keep it hydrated.

Stay Healthy & Hydrated:

Drink plenty of water and maintain a healthy diet to support your body’s natural healing process. Staying active within your comfort level can also promote better circulation and healing.

By following these guidelines, you’ll help your skin heal well and achieve the best results from your treatment. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us!
